In a step that reflects renewed dynamism within Lebanon’s insurance sector, the Insurance Brokers Syndicate (LIBS) held a workshop on September 22, 2025, at *Terre Brune Hotel* in Faqra. The event was dedicated to launching its strategic plan for the years 2025–2027, following the election of its new president, Talal Ounsi, and the new board.

The workshop was more than just an internal meeting; it was a pivotal milestone aimed at setting a clear vision for the syndicate’s future amid the challenges facing the sector. Participants emphasized the need to restructure licensing requirements and curb the irregular sale of insurance products—an essential step toward reinforcing transparency and protecting the market from chaotic practices.

The roadmap also highlighted strengthening regulations and broadening the syndicate’s presence both locally and internationally, paving the way for stronger partnerships with regional and global associations and federations. This approach is expected to elevate professional standards and place Lebanon more prominently on the global insurance map. Among the priority issues was the development of group health insurance initiatives, especially at a time when the demand for fairer and more sustainable coverage solutions is growing. The plan also stressed the importance of continuous professional development through seminars and conferences, underscoring the syndicate’s commitment to enhancing brokers’ skills and keeping pace with global industry trends.

Equally important was the focus on preserving the insurance portfolio and ensuring business sustainability—reflecting a long-term economic vision designed to provide stability for brokers and the market alike.

The newly formed committees, established during the workshop, are set to serve as the executive arm of the roadmap. They will work in an integrated manner to deliver tangible results that will have a lasting impact on the syndicate, its members, and Lebanon’s insurance sector as a whole. In this sense, the Insurance Brokers Syndicate can be said to have entered a new era of organization and planning—one that moves beyond addressing short-term crises, toward building a strategic path that strengthens its role as a key player in Lebanon’s economy and as a bridge linking the local market to international standards.
